Jebah Baum
In my art I endeavor to achieve a quality of presence without artifice or representation. My aim is to evoke a proto-physical experience, displacing verbal narrative in favor of a direct visual engagement with form.
Visual artist, curator and educator, Baum has a BFA from SUNY Purchase and an MFA from Cornell University. A native of the Hudson Valley, he began his art career in Stockholm, Sweden where he lived and worked periodically for over 25 years. He is currently collaborating with new music composer Steven Takasugi, creating sculptural objects for a concerto that will debut in Germany in 2026. He exhibits regularly in the U.S. and abroad.
