Born in Yokohama in 1984. While having played the violin since childhood, the dramatic encounter with Michael Jackson at his show in Japan awakened me to my enthusiasm for music. Devoted my adolescence to Yutaka Ozaki, another influential young artist then in Japan. After proceeding to university, I managed a musical bar named “musicafebar spacey” as well as worked at a renowned jazz club “Motion Blue Yokohama” (which in the end lasted for 10 years.) Also, in traveling worldwide, I felt local musical experiences such as vivid tribal dance music in Morocco during my search into meteorites in the desert. At graduate school I studied pluralism, especially identity between science and the arts. After graduation with M.A. in philosophy in 2011, I started my musical career as a Tokyo- based performance artist: Singing performances of pops and oldies at live houses and electronic music live sets + DJing in underground scene. In 2017, I also started a new project under the name lilly.
