Sei Yamazaki

Born in 1982 in Yokohama, Sei Yamazaki is a conceptual artist primarily working with typography, ink-wash painting and occasionally incorporating ikebana, graphic design, and architecture. He seeks the “absolute in the relative” and converts his findings into shape. As an artist who was born and raised in Japan where people have believed in the existence of myriads of gods, nature has always been the biggest inspiration and many of his artworks portray them.

As the founder and Creative Director for seitaro design, inc. (2008), he is involved in a wide range of designs and directions centered around corporate design, branding and promotional design as well as graphic, web/spatial/product design. Yamazaki is the first Japanese collaboration designer of FRANZ COLLECTION and has received many awards both in Japan and overseas including Design For Asia Award, IF Packaging Design Award, Ad stars and Good Design Award Gold Award among others. He recently has been appointed as a Creative Adviser for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics.
