Nami is a conceptual artist who strives to visualize the gap between Japanese tradition and modern society. She believes that the value of each person’s feeling is equal and questions the traditional roles of women and mothers through her artwork.
Focusing on the existence of conventional practices in a modern society, her installations invite the viewer to contemplate age-old traditions which go unquestioned and that are perceived as normal.

Nami is a contemporary artist with 15 years of experience in pottery and painting. Her artwork revolves around the realistic expression of human emotions.

女として、母として。いつの間にか慣習として定着した儀礼等。 社会を回すため、当たり前の様に行われているが、一方で誰かが虐げられている事がある。

ナミは、人はそれぞれの心の価値は同じであると考える。

作品を作る事によって彼女は問う。これまでの習慣は現代に適しているのか?当たり前の様に、ある一方に自己表現を抑える事を強いてきたもの。 彼女はそれらの象徴を、人のリアルな感情と共に可視化する事で問いかけていく。
